The Shasta College Library offers a variety of materials to assist you with your research and course preparation, including books, e-books, periodicals, DVDs, videos, and more. The resources below are just a sample of what is available to you through your library, both in hard copy and online 24/7.
  • Faculty teaching solely online and students enrolled solely for Internet courses and those working or taking classes at a Distance Education campus should follow this link to obtain their library card. General Collection

The library catalog is the author/title/subject guide to the library's more than 80,000 books, videos, and DVDs. It's also the portal to the library's 18,000 (and growing!) collection of online ebooks. Since resources on online teaching and learning cross multiple disciplines, it can prove very helpful to know some of the Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH) assigned to this topic before beginning your search. The library subscribes to dozens of online databases, most of which offer full-text access to magazines and journals, with both current and historical holdings. The best databases to use to find information about online teaching are:
  • Academic Search Premier - This academic, multidisciplinary database covers a variety of subjects in over 4,000 academic publications, including many in full-text from 1975-present.
  • ERIC - ERIC, Educational Resource Information Center, provides information to over 1,000 education and education-related journals.
